LIST OF ISSUES
UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE STUDIES
Australia’s universities offer world class facilities and progressive curriculums with some being ranked within the top 100 universities in the world.
In 2009, one in five university students were international students offering you a chance not only to learn about and integrate with Australian culture but also to be able to relate to many of your fellow students.
Most universities offer a broad range of extra-curricular activities to help you have fun and meet life long friends and business connections during your degree.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSES
Many English language courses which can lead either to recognised qualifications or can be completed for no award are offered in Australia.
Immersing yourself in the country is a great way to learn English.
Completing such courses may be a requirement to enrol in a higher level educational course.
In conjunction with our Education Department we can help advise you on the best course to enrol in to reach your goals.
SIMPLIFIED STUDENT VISA FRAMEWORK
During July, the International Education Policy section has been busy delivering stakeholder information sessions across Australia to support the recent government announcement introducing a new simplified student visa framework (SSVF) from July 2016.
Key changes under the SSVF include:
a reduction in the number of student visa subclasses from eight to two
the introduction of a simplified single immigration risk framework for all international students.
There are a wide variety of institutions offering a wide variety of certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas. Skills developed in such courses are sufficient to qualify graduates for a number of vocations and demonstrating such qualifications might be necessary for subsequent working visas.
In conjunction with our education department we can help advise you on which courses and institutions will support your future career plans and paths to permanent residency.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT VISAS
Australia is a great place to enhance your skills in your area of work or study with structured workplace-based training. You can take the skills you have learnt back with you to your home country and, if you like what you see, there may be subsequent visa opportunities for you to return to Australia.
We can also organise visas for people who have been invited to Australia to observe or participate in Australian research projects or training for professionals and managers.
Australia has a number of well regarded primary and secondary schools. Completing part or all of your studies in Australia can help you perfect your English skills, learn about the Australian culture and enjoy the Australian lifestyle.
VISAS FOR LOOKING AFTER A STUDENT
Guardians of international students under 18 years of age may be entitled to live in Australia to look after their child. They can also enrol in an English Language Intensive Course to improve their english skills.
We may be able to assist if your current visa is likely to expire before your new visa application has been processed or appeal finalised.
